4 STEPS TO BETTER FLOSSING!

1) Wind 18 inches (or roughly your shoulder width apart) of floss around your middle fingers of each hand.  Pinch the floss between thumbs and index fingers leaving about 1 to 2 inches in between.Use your thumbs to direct the floss between your upper teeth.

2) Keep 1-2 inches of floss taut between your fingers.  Use your index fingers to guide between the contacts of your lower teeth.

3) Gently guide the floss between your teeth by using a zig-zag motion.  DO NOT SNAP THE FLOSS BETWEEN YOUR TEETH or you could cause damage to your gums.  You want to contour the floss around the side of each tooth in a “C” shape.

4) Gently slide the floss up and down against the tooth surface and UNDER the gum line.  Floss each tooth thoroughly with a clean section of floss each time.

Flossing is important in removing plaque and bacteria build up between your teeth and along the gum line.  This helps to prevent gum disease and dental decay!
