Despite the ease of restrictions on July 1, I have maintained the same exact safety protocols throughout the pandemic both personally and professionally.
Why you ask, even though I’m double vaxxed?
It’s my responsibility as a HCP that sees many patients daily; it’s my responsibility as a father of a child under 12; it’s my responsibility as a son of older parents; it’s my responsibility to my community; to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
Vaccination protects me first before it protects others. I can still carry the virus and pass it on. I will continue to wear my PPEs to protect my patients because I see kids, I see the elderly, I see the immune compromised. And we’ve done it safely and it’s proof our protocols work. And we will continue to protect our patients and our families, despite how tired we are at the end of our work day; despite our neck pain, back pain, and headaches.
I will continue to wear my mask in ALL public settings. I will continue to only dine on patios or get take out so I can still support restaurants. I will continue to wear my mask at the gym even when I’m doing full cardio.
I encourage everyone to stay vigilant. Don’t let your guard down. Do your part and protect each other. Only together can we get through this! 👊
