This teenaged patient fell down some stairs and knocked about 6 of his front teeth loose but did not lose any. This wired splint (almost like braces) was placed to hold the teeth in place while the surrounding bone healed over a period of a couple weeks.
We managed to save his loose teeth but six of them needed root canal therapy because the nerve tissue died and got infected from the initial trauma. For the time being, the teeth were restored with composite fillings but some will eventually require crowns to help protect the teeth structurally and further improve the aesthetics.
